Contractors almost always have a higher hourly wage than a salaried employee and are often paid for overtime. Contracts can last from one to three months to many years, depending on the situation. A contract programmer generally does one thing: program (code) for the duration of the contract. So, contract programming is just an area of computer consulting. Other areas of computer consulting include custom developers, network consultants and information technology (IT) consultants. The contract programmer can work via two forms of contracts: 1) ?W-2 ? contracts and 2) ?1099? contracts.

There’s the “W-2″ contractor

The ?W-2 contractor? receives the typical IRS W-2 form at tax time and works as a temporary employee of a contract broker or some form of employment agency. The contract broker basically acquires a contract with a client company and hires the contractor to work on that contract for them. Brokers make their money by charging the client an amount over your agreed upon hourly rate.

and this leads to the condition of overtraining that we are talking about. So as you become more advanced…keep thinking of ways to make your training harder (more intense) but shorter in duration and less in volume.

I remember years ago I was at a sticking point with my own training…and I was getting really frustrated. Nothing seemed to work for me. I thought I was doing everything optimally…eating right…getting plenty of sleep etc…but my weight hadn’t budged for months. I was at 89 kilos and I desperately wanted to break the 90 kilo barrier, but nothing seemed to work…I suppose the 90 kilo barrier to me was like Roger Bannister’s four minute mile…this was my four minute mile…which the final solution was to be a four minute instead of four hour (I?m exaggerating here, but I hope you get my drift) exercise workout!

Time to try something different I thought…what I was doing obviously wasn’t working…so I had nothing to lose.

Fusion21 has role in ‘Big Society’

0 Comments | Daily Post; Liverpool (UK), Jul 28, 2010 | by Anonymous

HUYTON social enterprise Fusion21 has been praised by Whitehall as part of Prime Minister David Cameron’s ‘Big Society’ launch in Liverpool last week.

As part of the Big Society and Deprived Neighbourhoods project commissioned by Sir Gus O’Donnell, senior Whitehall decision makers have been challenged to engage with organisations at the heart of local communities. As one of four test bed areas Liverpool would be among the first locations able to apply for funding from the ‘Big Society’ bank which is funded using cash from dormant bank accounts and by private sector investment.

Fusion21 works in partnership with local social landlords, contractors and suppliers and has created 632 sustainable jobs through social enterprise activities. Government Office North West director Liz Meek said: “Fusion21 is a model that has always been innovative and is a company with a strong geographical focus, enabling it to have a direct impact at community level.”

Fusion21 chair Chris Murray said: “There is a big opportunity for Government, the public sector and social enterprise to work together and help deliver ‘big society,’ while creating jobs and using public money more efficiently

Naked pleasure; It’s flashy but fun

0 Comments | Taranaki Daily News; New Plymouth, New Zealand, Jan 7, 2009 | by MAETZIG Rob

This vehicle might be a bit silly, but it’s also a tonne of fun. ROB MAETZIG reviews Ford’s V8-powered Super Pursuit ute. ———– ——— ONE can never accuse the Australians of being backwards in coming forward with their flashy high- performance rear-wheel drive utes.

From the point of view of utility — which years ago was the whole point of these utes — they are next to useless. In theory they might be capable of carrying half a tonne of cargo, but a combination of wide wheels with ultra-low- profile tyres, very low ground clearances and flash tonneau covers over the rear trays mean they are not designed for a lot of hard work.

But from the points of view of street-wise looks and performance – - which these Ford and Holden utes have evolved into — then they’re great. Testosterone-charged males on both side of the Tasman love them. So does notorious Kiwi naked newsreader Lisa Lewis; she owns one.

Earlier last year Holden set the ball rolling with the latest generation of performance utes when Holden Special Vehicles launched the Maloo R8, a big V8-powered ute with out-there looks and the claim that it was less of a ute and more of a two- door sportscar with a tray out the back

Keane on target in Tour draw

0 Comments | Journal (Newcastle, England), The, July 26, 2010

Sporting Lisbon……………………….. 2 Tottenham Hotspur ………………….. 2 ROBBIE Keane scored one and set up another as Tottenham completed their pre-season tour of the United States with a draw against Sporting Lisbon at Red Bull Arena last night.

The Republic of Ireland’s record goalscorer, linked with a move away from Spurs this summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, opened the scoring with a fine finish in the 23rd minute.

He latched onto Niko Kranjcar’s through-ball and slotted into the bottom-left corner to give manager Harry Redknapp food for thought.

The lead lasted for only two minutes, however, before Chile international Matias Fernandez headed home the equaliser.

Jaime Valdes made it 2-1 to the Portuguese side three minutes into the second half by firing past David Button, who had replaced Carlo Cudicini at the break.

Substitute Jonathan Obika squeezed a shot past goalkeeper Rui Patricio in the 70th minute from Keane’s pass to get the north London outfit back on level terms, but neither team could force a winner in the remaining 20 minutes.

A: In case he got a hole in one.

Golfer 1: Hey, guess what! I got a set of golf clubs for my wife!

Golfer 2: Great trade.

Seafood can never be refrozen.

Because eating seafood can actually treat some illness and prevent certain diseases, it can be considered a very healthily diet. Some fish contain the omega-3 oils which help stop certain disease, and help in the aid of curing some illness. Most all seafood is high in protein and low in fat, with the exception of a few, such as the eel.

Seafood has been linked in helping the prevention of Alzheimer?s disease, and to aid in the prevention of breast cancer. Women in countries that eat more seafood than red meat have a lower tendency of contracting breast cancer. Using fish oil has also been linked to preventing some diseases.

There are a lot of healthy benefits from eating a seafood diet. Scallops and mussels add zinc and iron to your body. Seafood also contains iodine, which is good for your thyroids. Having a seafood diet is just a smart and healthy thing to do.

They must remove it.?

Dan is certainly correct. Partisan politics now permeates our government. It does not matter what the issue is. If one party supports an idea, the other party opposes it, just for the sake of opposition it seems. There is no attempt to find common ground to solve problems. The bickering is non stop. Politics as we know it today, is split along party lines. Period. Exclamation point!

I had never belonged to a ?party? until about four years ago. I was watching Meet the Press. Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe was the guest. Mr. McAuliffe looked straight into the camera and told me that I was either with him or against him. There was no middle ground. If that was the case, I concluded, I needed to do something. So, I joined my local Republican Party. I’m not an active member. I simply pay my dues. But, if I had to make a choice like Mr.

Metal Railings For Home Or Business by Adam Peters
in Outdoors (submitted 2008-07-22)

The Importance of Handrails

Almost every home has stairs of some kind. They may be stairs that lead to your front door, stairs that lead to your second story or stairs that lead to your downstairs. The type of handrails you choose can accentuate whatever type of stairs you have in your home.

Handrails

Handrails are a way to add elegance and creativity to your home if you use the right kind of handrails. Metal railings are a popular style of handrail as well as wrought iron and wood. Although the main reason and purpose for handrails is safety, this does not mean that they can’t be attractive and aesthetically appealing to you and your guests. Handrails are much more attractive and versatile then what was offered years ago. Today we have choices of wood, iron, aluminum and steel. You’ll have so many choices that you won’t know which one to get for your stairs.

When handrails were first used years ago, the most common type was pieces of pipes that were mounted to the stairs, walls or ramps. While they served their purpose for safety, they weren’t very attractive. Today we can have the combination of safety and beauty
