“WOBURN Safari Park has got to be one of my favourites,” says animal fan Louise Walker. “It’s not massive compared to Chester Zoo, but not many zoos are.

“It’s had a lot of money spent on it, to get it to the standard it’s at now.”

Louise visited the attraction with husband Chris, aged 31, and children Joshua, aged five, Mitchell, aged three, pictured below, and eight-month-old Kaitlin.

“When you drive in you can go on safari or go straight to the other part,” she says. “In the safari the lions have the biggest enclosure I’ve ever seen, with hills and loads of trees for them to scratch and climb.”

Louise describes the monkeys they saw as “cheeky”.

“They tend to get on the roof of your vehicle, so be warned,” she says. “But you can of course skip this part if you’re worried.”

Louise and the children enjoyed seeing the giraffes and zebras, and the family also saw three tigers walking freely around their enclosure.

“I haven’t seen this before,” says Louise, “because they’re supposed to be unpredictable.

“And I couldn’t believe the size of the black bears
